GOD REVAELED PART 4. THE GOD YOU KNOW IS THE GOD YOU SHOW

GOD REVAELED PART 4. THE GOD YOU KNOW IS THE GOD YOU SHOW
God is good and His mercy endures forever. In the other part of this series we have seen several things about the true nature of God. We have seen that Christ is not one of the picture of God, He is THE ONLY PICTURE OF GOD. No man can know God except through Christ.  Every picture of God we see must be subject to what we see in Christ.  This is so because Christ is the image and substance of God. Hebrews 1 :3, Colossians 1:16. We also saw that God is all together good and there is no evil in Him. IF IT IS NOT GOOD, IT IS NOT GOD. Out of His goodness, He gives liberally without finding fault. All these are clearly explained in part 1, part 2 and part 3 of God revealed. Click the links to read them if you have not read them.
In this series, we would be looking at how the knowledge of God affects your conduct. One of the importance  of knowing the true nature of God is that the God you know is the God you show. Any view of God you have reflects in how you conduct yourself.
Matthew 5
43  Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
44  But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
45  That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
46  For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
47  And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
48  Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
Mark verse 45 above. Jesus  in the above scripture was showing us how to treat our enemies. He hinged this on the fact that our father extends His goodness  to even His enemies. We are told to do good to those who hate us and to love our enemies. This is because that is the only way we can reflect our father.  Now the question is, what if the God you know as father is the one going about killing enemies, you would likely reflect that. But that is not the God we see in Christ. You notice many people that believe God is killing people will find it difficult to show love to  enemies.    This is because they see God as one who does same.  Question, if God is killing, stealing and destroying then what is the devil doing?  Giving life ? That can not be my God we see in Christ.   As believers in Christ, we must show the God we have in our conduct.
If you believe  God doesn't  forgive until a man say sorry, you will likely nor forgive others until they apologise and acknowledge  their faults.  How does the Bible say we should forgive?
Ephesians 4
32  And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
Col 3:13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
We are told to forgive one another not to be forgiven by God but as we were forgiven. How were will forgiven ? Unconditionally. We were forgiven solely because of what Christ has done. We are also to forgive others likewise. What does it mean to forgive? It means not treating the person according to his action . It is the same way God does not treat or relate  us according to our actions.  We are carriers of God. Therefore, we must reflect God in our conduct. Many times you may deceive yourself and say I don’t easily forgive. That is not true. The real you in Christ loves to forgive always. So give it expression. Any conduct you show outside love and forgiveness  is not you but deception. All you need do is to LET, ALLOW YOUR LIGHT SHINE in conduct. In that our God forgives always, we are to forgive always. We have His DNA. We are carriers of God. So we cannot afford to show anything less than Him.
Now let’s look the fruit of the spirit.
Galatians 5
22  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23  Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24  And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. note
25  If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
26  Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
Notice they are called the fruit of the spirit; the character of the spirit of God.  The Spirit  in us is meek, is love, gentle, faithful. Notice that, we are to yield to the Spirit  by walking in the Spirit. The God that expects us to be loving cannot be anything less. The God that expects us to be longsuffering cannot be anything less too. God is long suffering.  His long suffering nature has no ending. The fruit of the spirit is not what we acquire. It is of God. All we need do is to give it expression. As believers, we are to ALLOW the spirit live through us.
When it comes to conduct, as believers we must make it a PRIORITY to express the God in us. The whole knowledge of God is to help us worship God and to regulate our conduct. Know your father, you are already like Him. Give it expression. The key to expressing the life of God effortlessly is IDENTIFICATION. You must acknowledge that first the ability is in you because you have Christ. You don’t need to allow the world to define you. It GOD'S WORD that defines us. Notice verse 24 of Galatians 5, in Christ We have crucified the flesh and its affections. We are not to be trying to crucify. But we must reckon that we are dead to fleshy desires.
In summary, in this series, we have learnt a lot about the nature of God. The key to understanding the nature of God is CHRIST. If it cannot be found in Christ, it cannot be found in God. How many persons did Jesus kill on earth? Who did He call down fire on? Who did He teach any lesson with evil? In fact in Luke 9, we see that Jesus was refused to enter a city, the disciples wanted Him to call down fire like Elijah but He rebuked them.
Luke 9
52  And sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him.
53  And they did not receive him, because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem.
54  And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did?
55  But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.
56  For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them. And they went to another village.
Jesus came to save men not to destroy them. That shows us a key character of God. God’s power is seen in saving men not in destroying men. Real power is in salvation. It is easy to destroy. This is the God we serve and we must let Him reflect in our conduct. Those that see God as a killing God will always find it difficult to show love. This is because the GOD WE KNOW IS THE GOD WE SHOW.

May the eyes of your understanding be continually enlightened to know the nature of God and to know of His endless love. May your fruit abound more and more in righteousness in Jesus name.
