CONFESSION VERSUS DENIAL

Many times when people are told to confess God’s word, they confuse it for denial.  Confession is saying what the word says despite the circumstances. It is not a denial of facts, it is super imposing God's Word on your circumstances until all you can see is God’s word.  As Christians our only reality should  be God’s word, so when people say let’s say face reality, we look to God’s word. It is God’s word in Christ that defines our reality. We are what God say we are. We are not our experiences. The Bible place a clear difference between what a man does and who He is.
CONFESSION is from the Greek word homologeō, it means  to say the same thing as another in agreement. To confess God’s word is to say the same thing God’s word says. It is irrespective of  experiences or  what others are saying. It very different from denial. There is fact from experiences, then there is the truth of God’s word. I will give several examples below to explain this difference.  Like when you are sick, many will say their enemy is sick. Then let your enemy die. The word says you are the healed of the Lord. The word says you can minister God’s power to your body. Some in denial go to the extent of saying they have no symptoms. You act on the word, then step out in faith when you are sick.
1 Corinthians 6:9  Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
10  Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
11  And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
You will notice in the above scripture, that the unrighteous , the fornicators,  and the rests are referring to persons that have that nature, not just the actions. Paul in correcting always Separates the actions from the People. Observe verse 11 says such were some of you, not such are some of you,  In verse 18 of the same chapter, Paul charges them to flee fornication because is not their nature. As believers we must learn to agree with our nature in our confession and our behaviour.

WORKING THE WORD
James 1:
21  Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
22  But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
23  For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
24  For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
25  But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
In verse 21, we see that we are to receive God’s word with meekness and make it part of us. Then it went further to talk of doing the word. The question is how do we do the word? Or how do we work the word? The illustration given in verse 23 to 25 explains how to do the word. It is by beholding what the word says about you and not forgetting what you have beheld. You act according to what the word says. For example the word  says, you should lay hand on the sick and they shall recover. Working the word will be when you see a sick person you lay your hands. The word says you are righteous because of what Christ has done. 2Corinthians 5:21. Working the word would be living your life in the consciousness of your righteousness. Therefore you  live a righteous life because you are righteous. So saying you are righteous irrespective of your mistakes is confession. It is not a denial of your short comings. You  can not call yourself a sinner because you sin, that will be a lie. Neither can you say committing sin is now a righteous act. That would be denial. Just like some folks that believe sin is dead. That is not  scriptural. It is denial. The Bible teaches  that there is sin and that our sins are forgiven in Christ. God does not deal with man according to his shortcomings. This is saying and acting the word. The word says you have peace with God through the blood not through what you do.
Romans 5
1  Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
So working the word must be coming before God without any sense of guilt.

GOD’S PERSPECTIVE IN HIS WORD
In anything we do, we must allow God’s word form our perspective of things. We must not let this WORLD define how we see things. Perspective matters a lot in things. You will notice the same incident will happen to two persons for instance but they will react to it differently.  The following extract from Truth Experience by Pst Eghosa Alvin explains God’s perspective from The word. We must view things and act according to these perspectives.

There is God Word's view to areas of your life, and your philosophy must be the word of Christ.


In some circumstances the Word has authority over you and you must allow the word to regulate your life .For circumstances the Bible does not talk about, engage common sense.

On love, relationship and marriage, a lot of people have made themselves experts with their personal, people-specific view which they have generalised. However, the Bible talks about these matters. You do not judge love by words alone and silly things but as taught in the Bible. We see and understand love in actions. You must be able to see the consistency in the actions of the person. Love is not just in feeling or emotions.

About Parenting, the Bible teaches when to spare the rod and use the rod. Parents can "beat" (that is discipline or punish) their children. The question is how and why. You must not raise Children with the idea that they can get anything and that there is no discipline for their wrong actions. Corrections needn't be with the whip only but it can also be with the use of words.

About Business ,the Bible doesn’t teach on particular business but on how to conduct yourself in business generally, you must be smart  not defrauding people.

About dressing, the Bible says to dress moderately. Ladies are told to dress with shamefacedness. That is in consideration of what people will think of them..

About music ,we see that words matter .content should always define what we see or hear. Content plays a major role in determining the right or wrong music

About health ,You are to take care of your body and avoid destructive emotions that can affect your emotions. The Bible also teaches that the power of God heals.

About food ,the Bible teaches that anything can be eaten, when  sanctified with word and prayers. Teaching that something can not be eaten is called doctrines of devils.
About leadership ,the Bible teaches it as serving people.

As a Christian, our life must be regulated by what the word says alone. This is confession of the word and doing the word.
