THE STORY OF THE GODS. PART 2

THE STORY OF THE GODS PART 2. Supernatural abilities of the man in Christ

One definition of a god given by Webster in his dictionary is  a god is  a spirit or being that has great power, strength, knowledge, etc., and that can affect nature and the lives of people. The new creation falls into this category. In the part one of this series, we established that there is nothing normal about the one who believes in Jesus. (Click HERE  to read part one first if you have not read it) Such a person has received the power that exceeds target. That power allows the person to controls circumstances.

Reading through the old testament text of the Bible, we see different supernatural exploits. Even from the Beginning, the earth and the things therein were created from words. This was followed by several supernatural occurrences. Jesus in summarising the exploits of the old testament says:
Matthew 12:11  Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
Jesus compared all that have lived before John and said, none is greater than John. This is because John was the last prophet that pointed out the Christ they were all looking forward to. The GOODNEWS is that, THE LEAST in the Kingdom is greater than they all. The least is greater than people like Abraham,  David, Elijah, and the other prophets. The book of  Hebrews puts it this way:
Hebrews 11:
39  And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:
40  God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect. note
These people looked for our days eventhough they had many supernatural experiences. How Much more we.

THE PROMISED SPIRIT NOW IN US
Reading through the old testament,  we see different wonders wrought by men because the spirit of the Lord came upon them. Let’s look at Samson as an example. This man wrought different wonders despite his character flaws.  In Judges 14, we see  him rent a lion as if it is a young goat because the spirit of God came upon him.
Judges 14:
5  Then went Samson down, and his father and his mother, to Timnath, and came to the vineyards of Timnath: and, behold, a young lion roared against him. note
6  And the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him, and he rent him as he would have rent a kid, and he had nothing in his hand: but he told not his father or his mother what he had done.
To rent a goat without  weapon is hard. How much more a lion. This is the manifestation of supernatural might by the Spirit.  It is the same spirit that we receive and become one with when we get saved. Dear believer, there is more to your ability than you have seen. You have to stretch your mind for impossible situations. It is when they say it is impossible that the Believer comes to town. We specialise in impossibilities. Reading through all the prophets in the old testament, you will always see that they prophecy and did different exploits by the Spirit that came upon them.
A new creation does not have the spirit coming and going. Before Jesus left He told the disciples that when the Spirit comes, He will abide with them forever.   John 14:16  And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
This is fulfilled at New birth. Now we have received the Spirit and become one with the Spirit.  Romans 8: 9  But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.This means that we can do much more.

Looking at the exploits of the old testament saints, what can we say of men like Elijah? He spoke and physical fire came from heaven  (the unseen realm), He commanded  rain not to fall for three and a half years. 1Kings 17:1. What of Elisha his servant? He spoke and Naaman the leper was cleansed 2Kings 5. He spoke and a barren woman bore a son. He raised the son back to life when the he died. By his words also a bottle of oil was used in filling many jars of oil. 2kings 4. These two men spoke little or nothing  about Christ , yet they were able to wrought wonders by the Spirit.
What can we say of  David and his mighty men? 2Samuel 23:8-38. One of them Eznite slew 800 (eight hundred) people at once. (Verse 8) How do we explain that? Oooh, the Bible is full of stories of supernatural experiences. Many people know God only in the realm of purity and holiness. But God is Spirit and totally supernatural as much as He is pure. We must understand that having God is going beyond the laws of this earthly life. We have been privileged to partake of this  supernatural nature of God.  We can play with the elements of this world. If a dead man like Elijah can hold rain for three and half years, how much more we that are alive in the Spirit?

One thing that hinders supernatural abilities of the believer is the sense of UNWORTHHINESS.  People feel they are not worthy to stand and speak to circumstances. In as much as living a holy life is good, it is NEVER a condition for working in the supernatural. What can you say of Samson? He will come from a lady's lap and carry the city gate. Even in Judges 14, where he tore a lion,  he was about a woman’s business. This should burst your religious mind set. This doesn't in any way endorse sin. But, you must know that POWER does not respect character. It is not biblical to teach that people don’t live supernatural life because of their character. Let’s look at Peter. He just finished raising a cripple, look at what He said afterwards.
Acts 3:
12  And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?
13  The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.
14  But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you;
15  And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses. note
16  And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
Notice what Peter said, it is neither by personal holiness or personal power. It is by the name of Jesus. It is by knowing that we sit together with Christ. This is the secret of manifesting the supernatural  always. Stay on the fact that you have been forever made righteous and not guilty before God.

Dear Believer, start reading the Bible and following every instruction for supernatural. Lay hands, speak words to heal the sick. Read through the four gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) and the book of Acts to see how miracles are wrought. How the dead was raised, how demons were cast out, how miracles of provisions were wrought. Do the same things and you will get same results. Life is spiritual and you are a commander in the realm of the Spirit. You have been made a representation of God. In Acts 14:11, they saw the miracles of Paul and Barnabas  and called them gods. Let people see the supernatural in all areas of your life. All your experiences as a believer should not be explained by physical processes alone. You belong to a supernatural family. Enjoy your right.

We have come to the days where miracles have become normal for Christians in the street.

For they shall be described as the powerful ones. The world will see the greatness of power in them and bow.

For the days of attributing power to the devil is over forever.
