THE SURETY OF HEAVEN FOR CHRISTIANS PART 3  (THE UNBREAKABLE SEAL)

In the part 1 and part 2 of this series, I have addressed several points about been sure of Heaven as a Christian. (Click above to read them if you have not read them)

Many times what people fail to realise is that the surety of Heaven is not in what they do though what they do is important. Many people Can not just believe the Bible as it is written. The surety and security in salvation is in Jesus who saved us not in us. This must clearly understood.   JESUS CHRIST IS THE UNBREAKABLE SEAL.  HE IS THE SURETY OF HEAVEN.

This is the core of Christianity. We didn’t give our life to Christ, He gave us His life. He came looking for us even while we were yet sinners. It is because some people thinks that they gave there lives that is why they think can pick it up anytime. This is impossible.

Romans 5

6  For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. note

7  For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.

8  But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

9  Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

10  For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

Observe the following scriptures above, verse 5 and 6, Christ died for us when we were enemies.  How much more shall we be saved from wrath by  His life that  we have received. If believers in Christ are not sure of going to heaven, how much more unbelievers? It is not actually a thing of argument whether a Christian will go to heaven.  Salvation is by Grace ( unmerited favour ) from start to finish. This is the reason why believing in Jesus as your saviour is beyond religion. Jesus didn’t come to establish a religion, He came to die for mankind so they can have life.

So does it mean every human being is going to heaven? Obviously NO. Jesus came to die for the whole world, but only those who believe in His death are saved. For example, if in a serious farming, a particular rich man goes to a restaurant and pay for the feeding of a village for one month. Then he sends some people to go announce to the villagers that the food has been paid for. To some, they will doubt it and not go and eat. Others who are wise will eat and live. Certainly, those that eat not if they die no one is to blame. They choose to die in hunger because they didn't believe in the price. Therefore they didn’t  go and eat. It will be foolishness to think it is the rich man that is making them to die in hunger. They choose to. This is exactly the case of those who don’t believe in Jesus. They are already sentenced to condemnation unless they believe. God is not sending anyone to hell. He has made provision for safety in Christ.

Christ is indeed our surety for heaven, let’s look at the words of Jesus when He was on earth.

John 6: 37  All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

38  For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

39  And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

40  And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Notice Verse 37, it was Jesus that said HE WILL  IN NO WISE CAST OUT.  The Greek word for " in no wise"    is “oumē”.It means, never, certainly not, not at all, by no means.  This means there is nothing you can do to make him cast you out. You are not wiser than God. Relax. Heaven is sure for you if you come to Jesus. Notice also verse 39 and 40, it is the will of God that you cannot be not Lost. It is Christ that will raise you up on the last day not your works. Even the people that preach that  going to heaven is by what you do, if you ask them whether they will go heaven they say by God's grace, because they know they still make mistake. It is only by God's grace, Unmerited favour people are saved and people go to Heaven. Going to heaven has NOTHING TO DO WITH WHAT YOU DO BUT WHAT JESUS HAS DONE. Though what you do is very important.

It is actually PRIDE and INSULT on the ability of Jesus and what Jesus has done for  someone that believes in Jesus not to be sure of Heaven. Be humble enough to accept that Christ alone is more than enough.

Let’s look at another scripture in Ephesians 1 Verse

13  In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

14  Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

Observe verse  13, any body that believes the gospel that brings salvation has received the Holy spirit as a SEAL. So that we can be doubly sure of being with Jesus on the last day, HE gave us His spirit as a SEAL. The word seal here is “ sphragizō.  It means a  stamp of ownership, a seal, a mark or security. Christ has seealed us with Himself through His spirit. Verse 14 further explains this. The Spirit we have received is the earnest, the down payment God gave us to show we are His purchased possession . There is actually nothing to be unsure of. It will the incompetent of Christ if anyone that believe in Him is lost.

In summary, JESUS CHRIST ALONE IS THE SURETY OF HEAVEN. He is the reason why we can boldly say, we cannot miss heaven since we believe in Him. It is so bad that if you believe in Jesus and you are not sure of Heaven it will not make you to miss heaven. It is just that you will not enjoy your work with Him on earth. You will be scared of missing your sure home. If your aim is to make heaven, is too late, get another aim, Jesus has already died for you, so you can be saved and be with Him on the last day.

The day of judgement is the day of boldness for us. This is because we have the standard of Judgement which is Christ.

1John 4

17  Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. note

18  There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

CHRIST IS THE STANDARD OF JUDGMENT,

HE IS THE JUDGE,

HE IS THE ONE THAT DIED FOR US,

HE IS OUR ADVOCATE,

HE IS OUR SURETY.

This is why THERE IS NOTHING TO FEAR ABOUT HIS COMING IF YOU HAVE JESUS. RELAX HE IS COMING FOR US NOT AGAINST US.
